Pre-Mortem Activity

A pre-mortem is an exercise where the team time travels ahead into an imaginary future where the project has been a fairly spectacular failure.

The team then works backward to determine what potentially could lead to the failure of the project.

The technique allows for a discussion on threats to the project. Having this discussion increases the likelihood that the main threats are identified. Threats can then be analysed and preventative actions taken.
